A Call For Spiritual Activism
"Spirituality" and "Activism" independently referenced may seem like contrasting topics to the unenlightened or unlearned being. Spiritual Activism as a whole denotes a practice and mindset that unites the supernatural and inward-focused mechanics of spirituality and the purportedly outward-focused role of activism. Publicly recognized in the mainstream as "New Age Politics", Spiritual Activism far surpasses this notion.
In truth, there is no success in spirituality without activism and vice versa.
Spirituality conveys the acknowledgment of a Higher Power and a feeling or belief in Divinity in alignment with The Universal & Cosmic Justice, Order and Harmony. Spirituality is an ancient term derived from the Latin "spiritus" meaning "breath" and "spiritualitas" which literally means "the breath of life". Read More. Ancient cultures possess even further insight into this powerful word.
Activism on the other hand, is a fairly new term appearing within the last hundred years or so. This word is considered historic rather than ancient, with its first record appearing in the Historical Thesaurus in 1907. It is registered in the philosophy of Rudolph Eucken as, "the theory or belief that truth is arrived at through action or active striving after the spiritual life". It is compelling to discover the connection in how clear and relative these words are at their roots of origin.
Spiritual Activism at its core symbolizes a journey of enlightened undertakings. The call to proceed in this energy beckons to those who feel chosen to be qualified. This elusive "qualification' process encompasses divergent adversities, covert adversaries and formidable obstacles. The character defined after rupturing paradigms of sacrifices, setbacks, betrayals, limitations, regrets and shortcomings is that of a triumphal warrior, a spiritual activist.
While many are called to rise, few choose these paths prophesizing self-discovery, self-discipline and self-elevation. Nonetheless, we continue unfolding in our pilgrimage of
Spiritual Activism.
